Thank you for checking into Lorelei Legends! We are very proud of the puppies we produce. Their temperament, beauty and health are perfect for our family lifestyle and we are excited to be able to share those qualities with others as they add our puppies to their family.

HEALTH: Too many people learn the hard way that the money you save at a breeder is often spent (many times over) at the vet. We strive to make our puppies as healthy as we possibly can so they can have long and healthy lives with their families.

Each breed has their own health concerns and testing requirements. Lists of recommended tests for each breed are listed by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.

TEMPERAMENT: We added Calypso to our family after the unexpected death of our daughter, Laurel. We needed a dog that could keep up with our family activities during the day and then snuggle and serve as our therapy dog as we navigated the grieving process. Calypso was so amazing at taking care of us that she was soon overwhelmed by requests for her attention.

This brought us to the next addition to our family. After an exhaustive search for the right health and temperament, we found Rogue! She has proven to be just as amazing at taking care of us and we couldn’t be happier with her. Her sweet disposition has met and exceeded our every expectation.

BREEDING: Once we realized what a wonderful addition Calypso and Rogue were to our family, I decided to pursue breeding. I wanted to provide other families with the same wonderful love and devotion we were experiencing with our dogs.

I had been looking into breeding Doberman for at least 20 years. Now that I had dogs with the exact health, beauty and temperament I wanted to duplicate – I decided it was time.

FINDING THE PERFECT MATCH: I never imagined how difficult it would be to find males that would be the right match for our females.

Not too hyper – not too boring. Not too big – not too small. Not too needy – not completely indifferent. Pedigrees – Health Certificates – DNA tests – On and on…

Spending months on stud selection is not uncommon.

When our puppies go home with all the qualities we strive for, it is such a rewarding experience! So we have added Ember to our breeding program with the hope of continuing to reach these goals.
